The college was established in the year 1966, and is affiliated to the Bangalore University. Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore is a minority Christian College and was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes. The college was granted Autonomous status in 2004 and was recognized as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ by the University Grants Commission. It was also conferred with a ‘Five-Star’ status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in 1998. JNC was also in compliance with the AUAC (American University Accreditation Council) standards for College programmes and was accredited by the council for the period of June 1st 2009 to June 1st 2012. Jyothi Nivas College address is at Koramangala in Bangalore
